Once Upon a Time…
HOW COVID IS LIKE AIDS
via Alex Berenson
In 1981, doctors in New York and Los Angeles saw healthy young men sicken and die within months, their immune systems apparently destroyed.
The deaths set off a frantic search for the culprit. By 1983 virologists had identified a novel pathogen they would call Human Immunodeficiency Virus.
Over the next decade, scientists learned much more about HIV, which early on had a fatality rate close to 100 percent, worse even than Ebola or smallpox. Ultimately the death rates dwindled as various options were found.
CS Notes: In 1988, I was shown in Germany at a medical clinic where a friend who was a nurse worked that they were curing people from AIDS using medical ozone injected into people’s blood. It was illegal to do this when I returned to the US. And later, I worked with Dr. Frank Shallenberger who was only one of three medical doctors allowed to utilize medical ozone at that time in 1998. Now, he has trained many others in the use of medical ozone.
Also, an author I interviewed when I worked for a nonprofit AIDS organization in LA in 1989-90 found that after interviewing 100+ survivors of AIDS, which at the time meant they were alive after three years, the ONE thing they had in common was that they did NOT take or barely took the standard medicine given to people at that time, which was AZT. I’ve also spoken to people who have survived HIV/AIDS without AZT.
This author and Elisabeth Glaser (wife of Paul Michael Glaser from Starsky and Hutch TV show) and I met at a bookstore book signing. We begged Ms. Glaser not to take the drugs. Sadly, she did and died. So did their baby daughter. She had received a blood transfusion while pregnant.
A local friend wrote a book about her experience of having HIV/AIDS and recovering. Her first husband died of AIDS and she is still many years later still alive and thriving. She was Executive Director of a local HIV/AIDS nonprofit here in Monterey for many years. Now, she is Director of a local dog rescue group.

The political story of AIDS is tricky. Scientists realized quickly that gay men and intravenous drug users were at far higher risk of contracting HIV than the general public. But they feared people might not support funding for AIDS research - and stigmatize those groups further - if they explained that reality openly.
So they didn’t.
As Smithsonian Magazine reported in 2013:
“Federally-funded campaigns sought to address a large number of people from all backgrounds--male, female, homosexual or heterosexual. The America Responds to AIDS campaign, created by the CDC, ran from 1987 to 1996 and became a central part of the "everyone is at risk" message…”
The deception probably increased the public’s willingness to fund research. But it came with serious side effects. Smithsonian went on to explain:
“Some AIDS organizations, especially those providing service to communities at the highest risk for contracting HIV, saw the campaign as diverting money and attention away from the communities that needed it the most.”
It also caused needless fear in people at vanishingly low risk, especially heterosexual women.
Perhaps most important, it was fundamentally untrue.
That fact should matter to anyone who believes truth - even unpleasant truth - ought to drive public policy decisions.
Which brings us to COVID.
SARS-COV-2 isn’t even in the same time zone as HIV as a killer. But it is like HIV in one crucial way. It plays favorites.
After a year, most of us know that the elderly are at much higher risk from coronavirus (though even well-informed people may not be aware HOW much higher the risk is). (Note: Also, people who are overweight and those who have Vitamin D and/or zinc deficiency).
But what public health authorities have gone out of their way to obscure is how much obesity - especially severe obesity - drives the risk of the coronavirus in younger people.
…people of normal weight under 40 are at essentially no risk of death from Covid. The researchers found their rate to be under 1 in 10,000 per year. Even in the 40 to 59 age range, normal-weight adults had an annual risk well under 1 in 1,000.
In April, British researchers published a definitive paper on the subject in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, a peer-reviewed journal. The researchers examined the medical records of almost 7 million people in England to look at the link between obesity and severe outcomes from Covid, including hospitalization and death.
…the findings suggest that for people under 60, weight loss would be the single best way to reduce the risk of Covid - probably even more than a vaccine (and with no side effects).
But of course you haven’t heard about this paper.
No one has. The public health establishment has decided that an honest discussion of who is really at risk from Covid might smack of victim-blaming - just as it did a generation ago with HIV.
This time, though, we haven’t just frightened a bunch of people at essentially no risk. Our viral lockdown theater has been far more destructive, for kids who have lost a year of school and everyone else. In one final irony, lockdown-related weight gain may have actually worsened the risks last year.
It’s long past time to tell the truth.

Anytime someone tells you…
You can’t exercise your freedom…
Because every move you make adversely affects someone else…
Know you’re looking at a con.
“By walking out on the street in New York without a mask, yawning, stretching your arms, looking at the sky, you’re devastating the life of a man in Bombay.”
It’s the wet dream of every little Collectivist. “We really ARE all in this together. Finally.”
Meanwhile, every corrupt politician sees the opportunity to tell lies and issue edicts on a larger stage. The curtain is going up, and he can sink his teeth into a leading role. He can bloviate to his heart’s content about The Good. He’s fighting a war and he doesn’t have to expose himself to a single bullet from the enemy. He’s Mussolini and he has medical backup.
Workers of the world, unite…it never achieved traction in America. It was a loser. But this; this SCIENTIFIC DICTATORSHIP; why didn’t anyone try it before? It’s such an obvious hole card. We’re all equal, we all carry the virus. Beautiful.
And big money people can gobble up distressed properties and assets at bargain basement prices. Buy a block, buy a town, buy a farm, buy a strip of buildings right through the middle of a city, buy a nation.
I’m just trying to do my part and help the economy…”
“You know, at first I was thinking of moving out of New York. The rampant crime, the horrific taxes. But then I realized I could buy New York.”
…As I’ve warned for the past 30 years, the medical cartel is the most powerful of all information outlets. It can shape public opinion like no other elite group.
Tests, diagnoses, and treatments are the raw material of the cartel. Shaping that clay into structures of preposterous threats—“a pandemic has reached our shores”—the leverage is magnified beyond the expectations of even the most optimistic propagandists.
Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Mao never dreamed of such a ploy.
“You mean, with media and government pronouncements, and just a modest degree of police crackdown, we can cow a whole population into wearing masks and refraining from public gatherings? We can even order them to submit to house arrest without firing a shot? We can tell workers and business proprietors to shut down and they’ll voluntarily follow orders? A miracle.”
Not only that, the population will believe they’re on the side of justice and truth.
Until the oppressive collective trance expands to the limit of its elasticity, snaps, and the shit hits the fan.
