Wise people discern the truth despite popular opinion and consensus reality. Nowadays we are being bombarded with many untruths sold as truth from the news media, politicians, on social media. And Americans are buying into these lies. Here are a few that I have found and/or know from my experience and background. A little perspective. You don’t have to agree with me. It is good to find out for yourself and not drink the prescribed kool-aid. Keep an open mind and keep searching for truth. Always, follow the money.
Rich old white guys want to keep their power and wealth.
42 NSA folks were deeply embedded in the national news media. They all share the same patriarchal vision of the CIA
The Truth will Set You Free.
Having worked as a newspaper reporter, editor and also having obtained media coverage for numerous clients, I know a few things about the news media firsthand.
When I was in college at Florida Atlantic University, we were shown and taught that objective journalism is a myth. People are full of opinions and bias. No matter what we write/edit, news is created by people who are full of bias and opinions. There are no two sides to many issues. There is truth vs. lies aka fake news especially nowadays.
One of the most memorable books we read was Captains of Consciousness which shows how the technology of television was consciously utilized to create consumers with advertising and shows designed for that purpose. The technology could have been used to educate, enlighten, inspire people for the highest good. But money and greed were instead the bottom line origins.
“In the first decades of the 20th century, American business needed to create a mass market for the cars, furniture and beauty products flying off its assembly lines. The solution, says Hunter College professor Stuart Ewen, was psychologically informed ad copy ruthlessly targeting people’s deepest fears and desires and encouraging palliative purchasing and self-criticism. Published in 1976, Ewen’s classic study focuses mostly on the 1920s. His descriptions of how the industrialists of that era deliberately created today’s consumer society are fascinating.”
In his book about PR, Ewen discusses the beginning of Spin. “The early years of the twentieth century were a difficult period for Big Business. Corporate monopolies, the brutal exploitation of labor, and unscrupulous business practices were the target of blistering attacks from a muckraking press and an increasingly resentful public. Corporate giants were no longer able to operate free from the scrutiny of the masses.“The crowd is now in the saddle,” warned Ivy Lee, one of America's first corporate public relations men. “The people now rule. We have substituted for the divine right of kings, the divine right of the multitude.” Unless corporations developed means for counteracting public disapproval, he cautioned, their future would be in peril. Lee's words heralded the dawn of an era in which corporate image management was to become a paramount feature of American society. Some corporations, such as AT&T, responded inventively to the emergency. Others, like Standard Oil of New Jersey (known today as Exxon), continued to fumble the PR ball for decades. The Age of Public Relations had begun.
“In this long-awaited, pathbreaking book, Stuart Ewen tells the story of the Age unfolding: the social conditions that brought it about; the ideas that inspired the strategies of public relations specialists; the growing use of images as tools of persuasion; and, finally, the ways that the rise of public relations interacted with the changing dynamics of public life itself.”
As a newspaper reporter and editor, we often utilized press releases created by companies to publicize their products and services as news. We simply edited the press releases and that became our copy dubbed news of the day or week. Unsuspecting readers did not and does not know that this is standard practice.
Some people call these handful of corporations that own everything part of a secret group called the Illuminati. I call them the "Global Mafia." says Lorenzo Flavian on Twitter.
90% of media is controlled by six corporations. Much of what you read, see and hear is part of a carefully orchestrated narrative done by special interest groups who censor stories such as the CDC no longer requires doctors to do testing to confirm that a patient is infected or died from COVID-19. Who knows how many Americans have actually been infected or died? There's no need for censorship when you have nothing to hide and are willing to address shortcomings.
It seems that some are skewing death tolls like they do polls up or down depending upon their agenda.
Why are Facebook, twitter, YouTube censoring info about Covid19?
“Among the censored YouTube videos is a viral video by Drs. Dan Erickson and Artin Massihi, co-owners of Accelerated Urgent Care in Bakersfield, California, in which they questioned the logic behind California’s stay-at-home order. The video had garnered 5 million views by the time it was taken down. In the video, Erickson pointed out that there’s:
“… a 0.03 chance of dying from COVID in the state of California. Does that necessitate sheltering in place? Does that necessitate shutting down medical systems? Does that necessitate people being out of work?”
“Erickson also criticized the fact that mortality statistics are being skewed by counting people who die from other conditions as COVID-19 deaths.
“When someone dies in this country right now, they’re not talking about the high blood pressure, the diabetes, the stroke. They’re saying ‘Did they die from COVID?'” Erickson said in the video.
“We’ve been to hundreds of autopsies. You don’t talk about one thing, you talk about comorbidities. ER doctors now [say] ‘It’s interesting when I’m writing about my death report, I’m being pressured to add COVID. Why is that?”
“By banning anything that contradicts the World Health Organization's recommendations, Wojcicki asserts that the WHO is infallible, which it clearly is not. There's no shortage of examples proving WHO has been wrong on many occasions, and should not be relied upon as the premier, let alone sole, source of information and medical instruction.”
“The Gates Foundation funds the WHO, which in turn protects China. The WHO Has Long Been Criticized for Its Bias.”
Politicians routinely make up stories. If they cannot find dirt upon their opponents, they use innuendo and false narratives instead of facts. Fake news guru Trump and GOP could not find dirt upon Joe Biden so they are accusing him of crimes he has not committed.
Years ago in Reno, Nevada, I learned about a medical doctor who was curing people of cancer. This news was not covered in the local newspaper until years later and watered down despite his evidence, trials and real proof. Similarly, regarding AIDS, in Germany in 1989, a nurse friend of mine brought me to a clinic where they were curing people of AIDS using medical ozone. When I came back to the USA, I lived in Los Angeles during the AIDS epidemic in 1990-92. I also worked for an AIDS organization and did a ton of research and found out that medical ozone was only allowed to be used by three doctors in the USA. Later, in the late 90’s, I worked for one of them, Dr. Frank Shallenberger, who later trained many doctors to utilize this valuable treatment for AIDS, cancer and other immune compromised illnesses.
Working as a newspaper reporter in Twentynine Palms, women called us with stories about abuse by their military husbands. These stories were censored by Marine air base leadership and our company.
When I was in India, I found books sold there including one by Ayn Rand about Fascism in America that was banned in the USA. Rand's contention was that America was sliding down a slippery slope to fascism. Her words/books have been co-opted by the right wing / libertarians in the same way that evangelicals have twisted the words of the Bible for their own purposes. Putting words into the mouth of the gullible that are not true.
Years ago, a dear friend had been involved in Objectivism and considered Libertarian the way to go. I read Atlas Shrugged 14 times, Anthem and Fountainhead once or twice. Plus there was the book about Russia. Ayn Rand’s family came from Russia and she knew about the corruption and saw it happening here. What boggles my mind is the moochers and takers she describes in Atlas are guys like Moscow Mitch, Paul Ryan, Rand Paul and Trump yet these guys think they are the good guys or pretend to be.
I am not advocating Ayn Rand here, just telling truths that many who have not read her books do not want to hear. Also, Rand was a human being filled with contradictions as all of us are. She was married and had an affair with a married student of hers (Dr. Nathaniel Branden) which was immoral although both spouses knew. There is a book about this.
The Big Lie quotes by Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels
His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner. Think of the press as a great keyboard on which the government can play. Faith moves mountains, but only knowledge moves them to the right place. Accuse the other side of that which you are guilty.
I could go on with other examples but suffice it to say that I learned firsthand that there always is an agenda and following the money is always a good place to start.
