I had been actually feeling kind of hopeful, despite all that has been happening in our country and that today is 7 months since my sweet baby dog Cici went home not long after her 13th birthday. It seemed that perhaps some people were stepping up and turning things around here and in other countries. We were maybe beating the virus?
Was watching doggie movies like Benji and remembering books from doggie’s perspectives like Spencer Quinn’s wonderful series and Bruce Cameron movies and books. Dogs KNOW BEST. They are smarter than we are and sniff out the bad guys. Cici was so silly, loving and magical and she knew how to get whatever she wanted. Treats, bones, pizza, anything with meat or cheese and ATTENTION, LOTS AND LOTS OF BELLY RUBS AND ATTENTION.
I also watched a documentary about Life and After Life with psychic mediums and healers like James Van Praagh, Rebecca Cutehands amazing story and it was very powerful and inspiring.
Then I read the latest revealing New York Times article about Mr. Trump. Not good news to say the least. You know how he privately hoped to let the virus wash over Americans in the USA and let the virus spread far and wide all over. He would not have to actually DO what South Korea, Germany, New Zealand, Taiwan and other countries were doing to nip the virus in the bud but he would/could profit from his investments in stocks, drug companies, testing sites and donors like Joseph Pizza. (Cannot make this stuff up).
More about Trump: People say they want the media to stop airing his live hate rallies, and campaigns for his re-election on TV
Yet
Too many people are listening to him, spreading his lies, fear and giving him the attention he craves and needs.
JUST STOP, do not post videos of him ranting, babbling nonsense, lying, melting down, spreading his ignorance and dementia.
“Turn Trump off. Don't listen to him. There's nothing useful that will come from him. Because he has the title of POTUS*, people feel obligated to listen to and respect him. Stop.” - Propane Jane 3/23/20
Let me digress for a few more moments though. I am 70 years old, am finally housed for the past three months after not having a home for far too long (on and off for the past five years, had to sleep in my car a lot the last year and before that for two years). I am still quite ill with a host of heart and lung conditions.
Housing IS healthcare and the most powerful medicine there is as ER Doctor Margot Kushel in SF says. Despite having spent most of November and December in the hospital with pneumonia when my shortness of breath became more acute before, during and afterwards, I am now feeling better thanks to my visiting nurse, case managers, social worker and home health aide.
Doctors want to do surgeries that are put off right now which is fine by me. And one told me that he is confounded by me. In other words, he does not know how or why I am still walking around alive. My doctor in November told me I was very sick. Doctors don't usually say things like that.
Bless Dr. Morgana he really cares about his patients. Have to say so do so many doctors, nurses and nurses aides who have taken care of me over the years, 30-50 visits a year for 1-3 weeks usually. Dr. Fam, Dr. Helonius, Dr. Stuntz who performed breast cancer surgery on me last year (second one) right after his son died unexpectedly in a horrific accident. Nurses Anna from Norway and Ozy from Iran/Persia even came to my new apartment before I had my home health aide Gabriela (who is a God send) and cleaned for three hours far beyond expectation. Tina my favorite nurses aide (besides Jericho) came to my housewarming party in January to give me a crock pot. And now, her father has been diagnosed with dementia and CHOMP, the hospital, has reduced her hours, closed down three units and more.
It does take a village to heal and help sick people, especially elderly women without homes.
I've been middle class all of my life and worked hard as a newspaper reporter and editor, writer, editor, co-author of five romantic travel guides, blogger (dog travel blog for 12 years), Put myself through college working six jobs, so am not exactly a slacker. Traveled around the world for three years. Wrote articles, interviewed celebrties, best selling authors and others. More here:

But in September 2014, I had to leave the home where I had been living for four years due to domestic abuse and fears of violence (like 50% of women without homes in the USA).
More here about my devastating story, an article I wrote for Vox media:

So now tonight, a dear friend of mine 75, without a home sleeping in her car with her dog, confirmed that 70 Homeless people in a shelter in SF tested positive for the virus, thanks to Mayor Breed for shoving people into UNSAFE shelters. And trailers are coming to Monterey for those that have the virus to be isolated in. Those that need a place 1,000+ women will be put in shelters like football field centers where they can all GET SICK and possibly die.
She told me that perhaps they are cramming people without homes into shelters so that people won't see streets filled with sick and dead homeless people.
Despite the PR to the contrary, there has been a very callous attitude and disregard for people without homes lives for years now in CA, LA, SF, Sacramento, Monterey, Carmel, SLO, Gilroy, 29 Palms, Seaside, Marina, Salinas, Palm Springs, Oxnard, Paso Robles and more, I know firsthand, and have talked to many other women who have had similar experiences. But I had hoped the virus would finally maybe change some people's hearts.
The City of Salinas AG country who won’t pay workers a living wage nor provide housing, stuffs 30 people into a 3 bedroom home, now is ordering folks back to work against their will and against the law. SUE THEM ALL
Another heartless example: a few years ago, a guy I met in Napa who called a few wealthy women he knew and told them about the then 500+Â women without homes here. They agreed to buy, rent or lease land for the women to live on and he even had jobs for some of them. I was thrilled at his and their response. But how could I get the word out to all of the women?
I contacted every single agency, nonprofit, churches here who are supposedly helping people without homes with the good news. The response was 0, zilch, nothing. Not one of them were the least bit interested in saving women's lives by housing them. None. Why ? I found out because the way it is that they are profiting off of the misery of others. One group took $3 million of donated funds to build an unnecessary building that houses NO ONE and all they provide primarily is donated food. NO housing. Seven women got salaries for doing what? Pretending they are helping women without homes.

Wanted: billionaires and millionaires and/or regular folks with hearts to house 1,000+ women without homes in Monterey, CA, 108,000+ people in CA, 1/2 million & 250,000+ seniors in USA, asking for friends before they ALL get sick and die.
Thank you. Happy Passover and Easter to all.
